The Warmia and Mazury region and the promotion of Polish products were discussed at the 590 Congress. Among the speakers was an entrepreneur from our region, Jan Szynaka – President of Grupa Meblowa Szynaka.

Szynaka Meble Company prepared and carried out a prestigious project of furnishing the Meeting Hall in the UN Headquarters in New York with furniture manufactured by one of the plants belonging to Grupa Meblowa Szynaka. Poland will end its non-permanent, two-year membership of the UN Security Council on 31 December this year. As is the UN tradition, individual countries donate various decorative items to the UN building, promoting their traditions, history and culture. On the initiative of President Andrzej Duda, this year Poland designed and donated the decor of the Security Council conference room. In cooperation with the Office of Central Support Services and the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda, Szynaka Meble created the space of one of the most important rooms located in the immediate vicinity of the UN Security Council meeting room.

Once again, Szynaka Meble moved up in the national ranking of cabinet furniture manufacturers organised by Meble Plus magazine, maintaining its high position and taking 2nd place in this prestigious ranking.

The four-day Furniture Manufacturers’ Partnership Fair in Iława has now finished. This year’s jubilee tenth event organised by Grupa Meblowa Szynaka attracted furniture enthusiasts from all over the world.

On 18 July, at 1 PM in Lidzbark Welski, the Ground-Breaking Ceremony took place as part of the construction of the new factory of Grupa Meblowa Szynaka – Classic Sofa factory, specialising in the production of upholstered furniture. The investment project implemented in the area of Warmia-Mazury Special Economic Zone is not only another important stage in the development of Grupa Meblowa Szynala, but also a historic moment for the inhabitants of Lidzbark, the whole Działdowo district and neighbouring towns. On an area of over 5.5 hectares, a modern investment project worth over PLN 20 million is being carried out. The first phase involves the construction of the full infrastructure of the plant, a production hall and social area of over 5,000 m2 and office space of 500 m2. Ultimately, the total area of the new factory will be over 20,000 m2. Equipped with state-of-the-art machines and technologies, the plant will eventually employ 400 to even 500 people! The factory is scheduled to open at the turn of this year.

Last Saturday, 29 June 2019, several thousand people gathered at the stadium in Nowe Miasto Lubawskie. All because of the seventh Szynaka Day, a yearly event which attracts to Nowe Miasto Lubawskie residents not only of the region, but also from the whole country. For lovers of good fun, the stadium in Nowe Miasto turned into the centre of Polish pop music on that Saturday afternoon. It was all thanks to Grupa Meblowa Szynaka, which has organised the largest outdoor even in Warmińsko-Mazurskie Province for seven years. This year the event was officially opened by the Mayor of Nowe Miasto Lubawskie, Józef Blank, and Presidents Alina and Jan Szynaka. Among the guests on stage was also the Marshal of Warmia and Mazury, Gustaw Marek Brzezin, who, like the Voivode of Warmia and Mazury, took patronage of the event. Alina and Jan Szynaka heard words of gratitude from Vice-Mayor of the Nowe Miasto District, Jerzy Czapliński, and Bogumil Kurowski, Director of the hospital in Nowe Miasto Lubawskie, for their contribution and engagement in supporting social initiatives and institutions, including the district hospital.

SpeedStarOne – a bicycle made of wood made by the employees of Grupa Meblowa Szynaka became a finalist in the fourth edition of the competition organised by the Scientific Circle of Wood Technologists of the Faculty of Wood Technology at the Poznań University of Life Sciences.

On 10 May 2019, the Entrepreneurship Council to the President of the Republic of Poland was established. It included Jan Szynaka, President of the Polish Chamber of Commerce of Furniture Manufacturers, President of the Management Board of Szynaka-Meble Sp. z o.o.
