President Andrzej Duda and his wife Agata Kornhausner-Duda were the Guests of Honour at the opening ceremony of the newly built office-production-warehouse complex at MM Szynaka Interline in Nowe Miasto Lubawskie.
Szynaka Furniture Group factories an excellent example for others
– Talking about furniture production in Poland, nominating Jan Szynaka among the winners of the Presidential Award, I can finally visit the Szynaka production plant. It is very impressive. I walked around the halls with my wife and watched the wonderful machines and fast production. I wondered if, in 1985, when Jan took over the carpentry workshop from his dad, he thought that one day he would own a huge capital group, employing thousands of people and being responsible for many enormous plants. – I am proud, when I look at the factories of Grupa Meblowa Szynaka scattered all over Poland, when you hear about the investment implemented by Szynaka Group in Lidzbark Welski and a huge investment that will be completed in Belarus – he said. “It’s not just sending furniture around the world to sell it in different markets, but also spreading production to different countries. I am proud when I look at Polish furniture factories, which are developing not only in Poland, but are also expanding abroad”, said President Andrzej Duda during his speech.
The President stressed that for the last 30 years “in free Poland, one can boldly implement the greatest economic visions, one can develop, when one can operate in the free market”, but it is necessary to have “talent, persistence, luck and skills”, which are not lacking in entrepreneurs from the furniture industry.
As the President reminded everyone, it was the Szynaka Meble company that designed and furnished the so-called Polish Room, i.e. the Security Council meeting room in the UN headquarters in New York. It was a way of commemorating our country’s membership in the UN Security Council in 2018-2019. As is customary, individual countries donate decorative items to the UN building, promoting their traditions, history and culture. While congratulating the President of Szynaka Meble company, the President thanked for the gift to the UN Security Council, i.e. for furnishing the Polish room:
– The Polish Meeting Room in the UN headquarters in New York was prepared and designed in entirety by Szynaka Meble. It is a gift from the company on behalf of the Republic of Poland to the UN, to the Security Council. This room was so full of delegations on the very first day during the United Nations General Assembly that even we could not hold a meeting there – said President Andrzej Duda.
Earlier, the President and the First Lady, accompanied by Company Presidents Alina and Jan Szynaka, visited the production plants of Grupa Meblowa Szynaka. Modern machinery and world-class production processes impressed the presidential couple. The warm atmosphere of the meeting was emphasised by spontaneous and cordial conversations of the presidential couple with the company’s employees.
