The employees of Grupa Meblowa Szynaka built a bicycle out of wood called SPEEDSTARONE
SpeedStarOne – a bicycle made of wood made by the employees of Grupa Meblowa Szynaka became a finalist in the fourth edition of the competition organised by the Scientific Circle of Wood Technologists of the Faculty of Wood Technology at the Poznań University of Life Sciences.
The aim of the competition was to promote wood as a construction material and to foster a technical culture and healthy lifestyle among young people and adults.
The road from concept to completion was long but ended in great success. It took almost 3 months to design it, to put everything together in our heads, to make strength calculations, to select the right materials and to complete the project itself. To cope with such a responsible task the employees of PPUHIE Szynaka and Szynaka Meble from Lubawa had to show outstanding craft skills and great technical knowledge at every stage. Their commitment and hard work resulted in a completely unique, one-of-a-kind bicycle made almost entirely of wood. The wooden frame, wheels, handlebars and even the seat resulted in a bike with a unique shape and design. Weighing just 33 kilograms, the bicycle is not only a unique means of transport, but a true work of minimalist art. According to its creators, SeedStarOne is the result of a combination of modernity and the use of innovative design solutions.
Being among the finalists is a great honour for us as only the best-designed products had the chance to win this title. The positive feedback on our teamwork motivates us to continue and is a perfect example that, despite the enormous scale of our company, we can unite and achieve ambitious goals together. Work is our passion, and the experience we gain every day allows us to set trends and create modern design not only in furniture, but also in other areas of social life – said the designers of the SpeedStarOne bike.
