The Warmia and Mazury region and the promotion of Polish products were discussed at the 590 Congress. Among the speakers was an entrepreneur from our region, Jan Szynaka – President of Grupa Meblowa Szynaka.
On 7-8 October, the 4th 590 Congress was held in Jasionka near Rzeszów. The event creates an excellent space to discuss the challenges facing Poland and Polish companies. It is an excellent platform for exchanging ideas and experiences between circles that have a significant influence on the development of Polish economy and entrepreneurship of Polish companies. Its participants are mainly entrepreneurs, analysts, economists, politicians, representatives of local governments and public institutions, people from the world of science and the media. The name of the event, i.e. the number 590, refers to the prefix of the barcode allocated to goods produced in Poland. Barcodes visible on almost every product packaging available in shops were created in order to quickly identify the product and its origin. Barcodes starting with 590 indicate Poland.
Program Kongresu 590 złożony był z licznych debat, dyskusji, panelów i warsztatów. Zostały one podzielone na kilkanaście bloków tematycznych, podczas których wspólnie dyskutowano na tematy związane z rozwojem polskiej gospodarki i ekspansją polskiego biznesu na rynki zagraniczne. Wśród prelegentów był przedsiębiorca z naszego regionu Prezes Grupy Meblowej Szynaka Jan Szynaka, który od lat promuje nasz region i walczy o równe szanse konkurowania na arenie międzynarodowej polskich firm i polskich produktów. Jest on wielkim orędownikiem i promotorem Polski i polskich produktów na świecie. – This two-day debate provided a number of conclusions and solutions that may contribute to unlocking the potential of the Polish economy and the Polish furniture industry in the world. Polish companies know how to compete, and their strong position on global markets is the best promotion of our country. There can be no modern, strong international economy today if we do not build awareness and economic patriotism among Polish consumers. It is growing stronger in Poles every year, but we must strengthen it and promote it. Such activities will allow us to reach the social awareness of Poles in order to show them that their purchasing decisions have a huge impact on the development of Polish domestic companies and the Polish economy. It is the end customer who really decides which product to reach for, and in this product there is everything: profit and thus money for innovation, regional development, social activity, jobs and development of family-run businesses like ours. Our advantage as domestic producers is our excellent knowledge of local raw materials, as well as of consumer needs. It is worth showing and promoting the high quality and uniqueness of national products in Poland. Our company will participate in the nationwide campaign “Saturday for Poland – I choose 590”, which will be launched on December 7 this year. It aims to encourage Poles to buy goods with the barcode beginning with 590. Through general public awareness, we want to instil in Polish consumers the habit of identifying the source of the product – if the barcode begins with the digits 590, we can be sure that the product is Polish, and giving it preference when shopping is already the first step in building economic patriotism and thus supporting the long-term development of Polish companies and the Polish economy. I encourage all Polish companies, not only from our region, to participate and promote this campaign, and Polish consumers to buy native products – said President Jan Szynaka during the 590 Congress.
