Jan Szynaka as an “Icon of Warmia-Masuria”

Last weekend, the Warmian-Masurian Philharmonic Orchestra in Olsztyn was the venue of the grand “Icons of Warmia-Masuria” Gala. Among the winners was Jan Szynaka, President of Grupa Meblowa Szynaka, which, as the largest employer in the region, contributes significantly to its development.

– The special people awarded with these statuettes today are our region’s treasure – stresses Gustaw Marek Brzezin, Marshal of Warmian-Masurian Province, who, together with Mayor Piotr Grzymowicz, opened the gala and handed out the awards. This was the first time when the “Icons of Warmia-Masuria” awards were handed out. They were awarded to individuals and organisations whose activity (e.g. artistic, scientific, sports or entrepreneurial) contributed to the development and promotion of the region and who/which emphasise their connections with Warmia and Masuria. Apart from a statuette, the winners received special books with their biographies and photographs. The award handed out by the Marshal of Warmian-Masurian Province and by the Mayor of the City of Olsztyn was collected by Aleksandra Szynaka.

The official event also featured performances by the Collegium Musicum Chamber Choir, Instrumental Band conducted by Janusz Wiliński, Cantabile Girls’ Choir, Czerwony Tulipan, Grzech Piotrowski and special guest – Leszek Możdżer.
