Szynaka Meble sponsors furniture and equipment for the UN Security Council Meeting Room in New York

Firma Szynaka Meble przygotowała i zrealizowała prestiżowy projekt wyposażenia w meble produkowane przez jeden z zakładów należących do Grupy Meblowej Szynaka, Sali Spotkań w Siedzibie ONZ w Nowym Jorku. Polska zakończy niestałe, dwuletnie członkostwo w Radzie Bezpieczeństwa ONZ 31 grudnia br. Nawiązując do istniejącej w ONZ tradycji, poszczególne państwa przekazują do budynku ONZ różne elementy dekoracyjne wystroju wnętrz, promując w ten sposób swoją tradycję, historię i kulturę. Z inicjatywy Prezydenta Andrzeja Dudy w tym roku Polska zaprojektowała i przekazała wystrój pokoju konferencyjnego Rady Bezpieczeństwa. We współpracy z Office of Central Support Services oraz Kancelarią Prezydenta RP, Pana Andrzeja Dudy, firma Szynaka Meble wykreowała przestrzeń jednego z najważniejszych pomieszczeń zlokalizowanych w bezpośrednim sąsiedztwie sali posiedzeń Rady Bezpieczeństwa ONZ.

When preparing the entire concept of the project, we wanted the elements and products used in it to combine modern, global design with characteristic elements for our country, originating from Poland and Polish tradition, which emphasizes our identity and will be a form of commemoration of our country’s historic membership in the UN Security Council in 2018 – 2019. The next such event will not take place for another 40 years. The arrangement of this prestigious room includes symbols of Łowicz, which are the epitome of Polish folk culture. In the central part of the room hangs a hand-painted picture of Fryderyk Chopin against the background of his family home in Żelazowa Wola. Solid oak furniture, chairs and wall panels are a symbol of strength, pride, durability, as well as the highest quality, prestige and luxury of use. National elements are an expression of our patriotism, our respect for national values, which are part of the history of our company and our country. Participation of Szynaka Meble company in such a distinguished undertaking is a great honour and distinction for us, but also a huge responsibility that we take upon ourselves. When we embarked on the project, we knew that Polish furniture signed with our logo, being part of one of the most important places on the world map, would become part of the history of Polish activity on a global level.

The designed space will become a modern, yet highly functional and exceptionally comfortable venue for dialogue and meetings among the most important representatives of international politics. This initiative will significantly highlight the history and importance of Polish activity on a global scale. The newly arranged headquarters will undoubtedly serve for decades as an outstanding platform to promote Poland, the Polish furniture industry, and Polish products internationally. Furniture bearing our logo has been promoting Polish craftsmanship on the global stage for many years.
We are pleased that, once again, we have met such a responsible challenge, becoming a pioneer of Polish identity and a showcase of Polish technological thinking and our economy. For many years, Szynaka Meble has been a leading furniture exporter, with nearly 60% of its sales placed outside of Poland. We successfully export not only high-quality products but, above all, act as creators of modern, global design and innovative technological solutions.
As the largest furniture group in Poland, we are proud that our efforts contribute to the proud history of the UN headquarters, a symbol of dialogue, peace, security, and international cooperation. The official opening of the Meeting Hall was conducted by the President of Poland, Andrzej Duda, during the UN General Assembly in September 2019, with the participation of a wide circle of honorary guests, including representatives of the Polish government and embassy.
